“After a tough few years, things are really looking up for Sheffield”
That’s the view from Lib Dem campaigner Cllr Simon Clement-Jones as official figures once again showed that employment rates in Sheffield are up.
Since the Lib Dems came into office, Sheffield has seen a record number of people in a job, a huge boost in the number of apprenticeships in the city, and local firms have received £millions to help drive growth and create jobs.
In addition to this good news, the project to fix Sheffield’s roads is underway across the city.
Since 2010, thanks to the Lib Dem ‘Pupil Premium’, schools across Sheffield have received an extra £62m – this is providing help and support to the pupils who need it most.
Mr Clement-Jones said,
There are now a record number of local people in work in our city, which is a huge achievement. After a tough few years, things are really looking up for Sheffield. But there’s lots more to do, and I want to play my part in moving our city forward.
