Action after residents complain about Council works ‘spoiling’ roadside

by richardshaw on 16 December, 2013

Residents contacted me recently about a large mound of soil which had been dumped at the junction of Folds Lane and Hutcliffe Wood Road.

Streets Ahead have recently been carrying out work in the local area to tidy up the grass verges. Though they had taken the spoil away with them when did Folds Lane itself, it appears they have been dumping soil at the junction with Hutcliffe Wood Road while they were working on other roads in the area. Residents complained of lorries off-loading the soil and causing this unsightly heap.

I contacted Streets Ahead about the spoil heap and asked that it be removed as soon as possible. I’m pleased to say that it was removed within the week – though you can see the mark it left on the grass in the picture below!

The heap of spoil was removed shortly after local campaigner Richard Shaw contacted Streets Ahead to ask for it to be removed.

Please do contact me if you have noticed a problem in the local area – I and the local Lib Dem team will do our very best to help.
