Blackstock Road fly-tipping – update

by richardshaw on 4 May, 2013

I recently passed on complaints from Gleadless Valley residents to Sheffield City Council, regarding the amount of fly-tipping that has been happening in local woodlands since the Council’s changes to waste collections and the reduced opening hours at Blackstock Road tip.

The council’s Countryside and Environment department has informed me that they are working to clear the mess, with a team working their way through the Gleadless Valley woodlands. They have just completed work in Rollestone Woods and are about to start on The Lumb, which they say is going to be  a ‘particularly difficult job’. I have asked to be kept informed of their progress so that I can pass this on to local residents.

The local Lib Dem team works hard all year round, not just at election time. If there is an issue in your area which you would like us to look into, please get in touch.
