Sheffield Lib Dems are campaigning for fairer taxes

Liberal Democrat campaigners from across Sheffield were out in force on Saturday 9th February, spreading the news of our campaign to cut income taxes for low and middle income workers.

Local Lib Dems campaigning for Fairer Taxes.

Local Lib Dems campaigning for fairer taxes for ordinary people.

Liberal Democrats in Government have already secured a £600 income tax cut, from April 2013, for over 20 million people by raising the threshold at which you start paying income tax. Over 2 million people will also have been taken out of paying any income tax at all!

Thanks to the Lib Dems, someone working full-time on the Minimum Wage now pays HALF the income tax that they paid under Labour.

However, we believe we should go further and raise the threshold in this year’s Budget  so that no one pays income tax on the first £10,000 they earn – that’s a £700 tax cut for ordinary people.

We’re asking local people to sign our petition to support Liberal Democrats in the Coalition Government to do just that.
